I’ve finally come down from my high of the 2012 SCBWI Winter Conference. What a fantastic experience! I met a bunch of terrific writers and made some great connections.
I’m back to work. Well, aside from my 9-5 job, I’m back to writing. I’ve significantly revised my query letter for my young adult urban fantasy, IDENTITY, and it’s AWESOME!!!
Here’s a status on my new projects:
I’ve started brainstorming on a new novel, a middle grade book with a super cool fifth grader, Seth Rosenberg. I have the story outline roughed out and I’m really excited about it. I couldn’t sleep a wink last night as ideas for the story line kept coming at me. My notes section of my Blackberry got quite a workout.
Over the past month, I’ve written two pages of notes for my next YA novel. While my goal is for IDENTITY to be a series, this new novel will be a stand alone novel.
This morning I spoke with one of my beta readers for IDENTITY, Katie, a freshman in high school who lives in El Paso, Texas. She finished reading the manuscript and loves it. How cool is that?
Cheers!
